Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Pepzio is an iOS application developed as a personal research logging tool. The app is published on the Apple App Store under the bundle identifier com.pepzio.app.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

Pepzio is designed with privacy as a first principle. We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any identifying information
• Your research logs, dose records, or protocol data
• Your vial inventory, cost data, or progress photos
• Your location, device identifiers, or IP address
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral data
• Health or biometric data of any kind

3. How Your Data is Stored

All data you enter into Pepzio — protocols, dose logs, vial inventory, notes, progress photos, and settings — is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your iPhone.

This data:

• Never leaves your device through Pepzio
• Is included in iOS backups (iCloud or local) at your discretion
• Is deleted when you delete the app
• Is protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing

4. Apple Health Integration

Pepzio can optionally read weight and sleep data from Apple Health, and write weight data to Apple Health. This integration:

• Requires your explicit permission through iOS's HealthKit consent screen
• Can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access
• Only reads/writes data locally — no Health data is transmitted to us
• Is entirely optional and not required to use the app

5. Camera and Photo Library

Pepzio requests camera and photo library access to allow you to attach progress photos and vial photos to your research logs. These photos are stored locally in the app's database and are never uploaded or transmitted externally.

6. Push Notifications

Pepzio requests notification permission to send you local dose reminders, vial expiry alerts, and reconstitution reminders. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on-device. No notification data is processed by our servers.

7. In-App Purchases

Pepzio offers optional Pro subscriptions processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit system. We do not see, handle, or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs all purchase transactions. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

8. Third-Party Services

Pepzio does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. The app makes no external network requests related to your research data.

The only external connections are: Apple StoreKit (subscription validation) and Apple Push Notification service (for scheduling local notifications). Both are managed entirely by Apple.

9. Children's Privacy

Pepzio is not directed to or intended for use by children under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Research Disclaimer

Pepzio is a data logging tool for research purposes only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or any form of health guidance. The app is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Pepzio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Your Rights

Because we do not collect your personal data, there is no data for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Your data lives on your device and is entirely under your control. To delete all Pepzio data, simply delete the app from your iPhone.
